Julz met Phil Arney, U.K. fitness professional, musician, and all-around excellent guy, at the World Fitness IDEA convention in 1997, but it took two years and a few more fitness conference run-ins for the couple to make a connection. After an industry event in England, Phil capitalized on his home-court advantage and offered Julz a tour of the city. The two were smitten. Phil soon moved to the States and they were married in June of 2000.

The Arneys now live in sunny Southern California and in August of 2007 became first-time parents to a daughter, Alana. Julz loves being a mom and continues to run, bike and play volleyball with Phil, (but mostly play with the baby!) and Phil excels at soccer, basketball and surfing (and competes with Julz over who gets the baby!) They love their church, Mariners Church in Irvine, CA, where Julz has serverd as a spokesperson and Phil in the worship band, and of course there is Choklitdogg, their 8 year-old Labrador Retriever, who once was their "child" and is now just a much-loved hound.
